The answer to this question is maybe. While soba is traditionally made from buckwheat, which is gluten-free, many varieties of soba noodles are made from a mix of buckwheat and wheat flours. This means that unless the packaging specifically states that the soba is 100% buckwheat and gluten-free, it’s safe to assume that it contains some amount of gluten.
