What does science say?

A gluten-free diet alone isn't always enough

It helps, but your gut flora can still use a hand.

Research published in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (2024) shows that a gluten-free diet improves the gut microbiota but doesn't fully restore it. Bifidobacteria, an important group of gut bacteria, actually decrease on a gluten-free diet - likely because of the lower intake of fibre and resistant starches from grains.

Two recent studies from 2025 looked into probiotics as an addition to the gluten-free diet for coeliac disease. A clinical trial with 85 participants tested a combination of Bifidobacterium lactis and Lactobacillus rhamnosus - two strains that are also in Little Helpers Probiotics. A separate review equally concluded that the species Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium in particular are promising as a complement to the gluten-free diet.

This is ongoing research. Little Helpers Probiotica is a food supplement, not a medical product. We don't make medical claims. But we do think it matters that you know why we selected exactly these strains.

Why probiotics if you already eat gluten-free?

Because gluten intolerance is more than just avoiding gluten. Your gut deserves support on the calmer days too.

01

Daily foundation

Your Helpers handle the moments. Probiotica builds a more stable foundation, every day. No complicated schedule, just a Helper a day.

02

Built for your situation

Not just any probiotic. 5 strains specifically selected based on scientific literature on gut microbiota in gluten intolerance.

03

Perfectly dosed

35 billion CFU per Helper. Stronger than most supermarket probiotics, but no mega-doses that often cause bloating in already-sensitive guts.

04

Stronger together

The enzyme and the probiotics work in a complementary way. The enzyme helps when you're exposed, the probiotics support your gut flora structurally. One brand, one philosophy.

05

Clean and simple

Vegetarian HPMC formula. Includes prebiotics (FOS, inulin, resistant starch) to feed the probiotics. No unnecessary additives.

06

One Helper a day

No complicated routine. Pick a moment that fits your day, like with breakfast, and stick to it. That's the whole routine.

How it works

A small daily routine, a big role in your foundation.

Consistency matters more than timing. Pick a fixed moment, keep it simple, and build your daily gut support from there.

1

Choose your option

Probiotica on its own, or multiple bottles for a longer daily routine.

2

Take 1 Helper a day

Every day, at a moment that suits you. With breakfast, for example.

3

Build your foundation

Give your routine at least 4 to 6 weeks. Your gut flora doesn't change overnight.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus 9bn CFU

The most-studied probiotic strain in the world, with more than 800 clinical studies. In gut health research, L. rhamnosus was shown to increase the expression of tight junction proteins (ZO-1) — proteins that play a key role in the gut wall's barrier function. One of the two strains studied in the 2025 clinical trial on coeliac disease.

Lactobacillus plantarum 9bn CFU

Studied in clinical settings for more than 20 years. In a study on gluten-related immune responses, L. plantarum was observed to suppress the production of tTGA antibodies and pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-2, IFN-γ). Central to scientific research on the interaction between gut microbiota and food intolerances.

Bifidobacterium longum 7bn CFU

Naturally present in the human gut from birth. Researchers found that B. longum increased IgA production in the gut mucosa while at the same time lowering several inflammation markers (IL-6, TNF-α). Extensively studied in relation to the composition of the gut microbiota in people with gluten-related conditions.

Bifidobacterium lactis 6bn CFU

The most-studied strain within the Bifidobacterium genus. Scientifically shown to survive stomach acid and reach the gut alive. In clinical trials, B. lactis improved gut transit time in a dose-dependent way. The second strain from the 2025 clinical trial on coeliac disease.

Bacillus coagulans 4bn CFU

Spore-forming: resistant to stomach acid, heat and moisture. Reaches the gut intact. In multiple randomised, double-blind studies, participants reported a reduction in abdominal pain, bloating and irregular bowel movements.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know before you start

Short, practical and without complicated supplement jargon.

Do I need this if I already use Anti-Gluten Pills?

Your Anti-Gluten Pills are there for the moments when you eat and aren't sure whether there's gluten in your food. Probiotica does something different: it supports your gut flora every day, regardless of what you eat. Together they form a complete system. The enzyme is reactive, the probiotics are proactive.

How many Helpers do I take per day?

1 Helper a day is enough. Take it at a fixed moment that fits your day — for example with breakfast. Consistency matters more than the exact timing.

What makes this probiotic different from what I can buy in a shop?

Most probiotics use generic strain compositions. This probiotic contains 5 of the most-studied strains in the world, specifically selected based on scientific literature on gut microbiota in gluten intolerance. 35 billion CFU guaranteed until the end of shelf life, supplemented with prebiotics.

How long until I notice anything?

Everyone is different. Some people notice a change in how their gut feels after a few weeks. Give it at least 4 to 6 weeks. Consistency is the key.

Are there any side effects?

Some people experience a slightly bloated feeling for the first few days as their gut gets used to the new bacteria. This usually disappears within a few days. If you're in doubt or have a medical condition, please consult your doctor.

Can I combine it with other supplements?

Many customers combine Probiotica with their Anti-Gluten Pills. If you take medication, are pregnant, breastfeeding or unsure, please consult your doctor first.

How long does one bottle last?

Each bottle contains 60 Helpers. At 1 a day, that's exactly 2 months' supply.

Is it suitable for vegans?

Yes. The Helpers are made of HPMC, a plant-based material. Suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.

Ready to support your gut every single day?

Make Probiotica your daily foundation. 60 Helpers per bottle, 35 billion CFU each and 5 strains specifically selected for gluten-sensitive guts.
